Book Review: Save Me #100Books

December 10, 2013 by Kenna Griffin

What would you do if you had to make a split-second choice during an emergency to save your own child or someone else’s?

Some of you pledge to do the unselfish and save the other person’s child. Others think the obvious answer is saving your own child—the one you vowed upon birth to protect.

Lisa ScottolineRose McKenna got the opportunity we all would wish for in a terrible situation. She had the opportunity to save both children.

Save Me by Lisa Scottoline is about the aftermath of Rose’s decision to save her own child and someone else’s from a school fire. It seemed like the right thing to do, but it ends up costing her much more than she expected.

Rose fears civil and criminal charges after she leads two girls to safety before rescuing her own daughter from a fire in their elementary school. One of the girls she saved, her daughter’s bullying classmates, is seriously injured and her mother blames Rose for not doing more to help her escape. It’s help Rose probably could have given if she hadn’t helped her daughter.

Save Me makes you wonder what you would do in a similar situation. It also makes you question if your personal and professional relationships are strong enough to withstand the magnitude of such a happening.
