By this time in the academic year we’re tired – really tired. The refreshed feeling we had post-Spring Break is gone, and we’re realizing that we won’t have another break until the end of the academic year. Even then many of us will spend our summer trying to make money and save it for next academic year or slaving away at internships for little more than a resume line. We love this, right?
It’s the perfect time to talk about how to avoid burnout. How do we continue loving what we do and remain productive during a time when we just want to play outside or sit by the pool? Lifehack.org offers 11 Simple Ways to Avoid Burnout. My personal faves:
- Embrace your morning ritual. How you start your day has a big impact on how happy you are throughout it.
- Make someone laugh. When the monotony is killing you, it’s time to take a break and do something fun. This could be as easy as chatting with a coworker or grabbing coffee with a friend. Just do something silly that makes you laugh.
- Stop making excuses. You know you’ve got to get through this, bite the bullet and keep moving forward until you get to a point you love.
Any other advice?
