The Frontier is hiring an investigative journalist.
The Frontier has an opening for a reporter who is interested in covering issues relevant to Oklahoma, from the “Red Dirt” portion of the state to “Green Country.”
This position will focus on investigative and longform news writing. Multimedia skills — including photography and video — are a plus.
Our mission at The Frontier has always been to hold public officials accountable. The right reporter will be comfortable sending and managing requests for open records, has a track record of aggressively pursuing the truth and breaking stories that have impact.
Successful candidates should be self-motivated and possess strong organizational and editing skills. Experience with WordPress is preferred. The Frontier is exclusively digital, so experience on social media is important.
The Frontier is a 501(c)(3) based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We have a focus on Tulsa-based issues, many of which extend across the state.
We offer competitive salary and benefit packages. As a small staff, the right hire will be based on personality and energy level rather than a “beat.” If you’re the right fit, we’ll find the right place for you.
Those interested should send a resume with clips of stories and other work examples to Frontier editor Dylan Goforth at firstname.lastname@example.org.
