I received a special honor this week. This blog was named by YouTern as one of the Top 100 Twitter Accounts Jobs Seekers MUST Follow: 2013.
I was especially grateful to be named to this list of amazing people because of the reason I started posting so many media jobs to this site. As I wrote in a previous post:
“I want people to understand that journalism still is a strong industry and a viable career option. Here’s the dirty little secret: there’s not enough time in my day to post all of the media jobs available. Not too bad for a “dying” industry.”
By recognizing my willingness to help students (and others) find viable, fulfilling careers in journalism, YouTern honored my love for and support of the journalism industry and those who work in it.
I hope you’ll review YouTern’s list and engage with those listed there. I promise that you’ll learn a ton and be exposed to great ideas.
Thanks again for including me, YouTern! In case you didn’t know, I post a list of media jobs under the “Jobs” tab on this site each Monday. It’s called simply “This Week’s Media Jobs.” Because I post a new list every week, you may want to review several weeks’ lists to get a comprehensive look at what’s available. I also post a list of media internships each Friday. It’s titled, “Look! Media Internships!,” and can be found under the internships tab.
